Molineux protest – stop exploiting loyalty
Prior to the match supporters of both Wolves and Crystal Palace united behind the Football Supporters’ Association’s #stopexploitingloyalty campaign.
Targeted at the Premier League clubs, the message is clear that supporters have had enough of spiralling ticket prices, alongside the continued erosion of ticketing concession pricing for the young and elderly.
"This is a Premier League-wide FSA campaign and is not a direct protest at the club," Wolves 1877 Trust vice-chair and FSA national council member, Ciaran Barker said. "But fans across the Premier League are fed up with increasing ticket prices and concessions being reduced’’
Wolves and Palace fans gathered adjacent to the Sir Jack Hayward statue to display the FSA banner, an action that has been replicated across Premier League grounds throughout the country over the last two weekends.
"This was never about having thousands of fans outside the ground and the FSA didn't want to be seen as trying to disrupt clubs or the Premier League. This campaign was to start visibility against such ticket price increases and against fans not being front and centre. This is the start of something and is a message to clubs and the Premier League that fans across the board have had enough.''
Wolves 1877 Trust would like to thank the supporters who got involved yesterday, as well as the police and the club for their cooperation in allowing the protest to take place without incident.
