wolves 1877 trust sets date for first agm

Independent Wolves supporter group, Wolves 1877 Trust, has set the date for its first AGM and election of board members. The trust formed as a ‘not for profit’ community benefit society in May 2021 will hold elections for all Board member positions; any trust member can stand for election.

The AGM will be held at the Emerald Club, Wolverhampton on Monday 4th April 2022 at 7:30 pm and will be open for members and invited guests to attend.

Membership is open to all Wolves supporters, current Trust Vice Chairman, Daniel Warren said ‘’we have been able to establish open and ongoing dialogue with the Club over the last 12 months and we invite supporters to think about joining the trust, there are important issues coming up such as ticket prices, safe standing and the Governments Fan Led review. The more members we have the more effective we can be in representing supporters’ views’’

The trust has held meetings with the club on a range of topics since it its formation and has representation on the club’s recently formed Fan Engagement Groups. The trust is also active at a national level through its membership of the Football Supporters' Association (FSA), including being part of the Fan-Led Review consultation, VAR working Group and introducing a sustainability motion.

Current Trust Chairman, Sam Payne has been pleased with the progress the Trust has made and commented, ‘’the current Trust Board have worked hard to establish dialogue with the both the club, National Council and FSA at a national level. The AGM and elections are an important step in the Trust’s democratic process. Independent supporter representation is really important, the Trust has a big role to play in supporter consultation. Going forward, I hope to see a more diverse representation of fans joining the Trust’’.

Amongst the positions up for election at the AGM will be Chairman, Vice Chairman, Membership Officer, Treasurer, Media Officer and FSA Representative.
